CHANEL Coco Mademoiselle

Maybe not so much an unsung hero as almost everyone interested in high-end beauty know about CHANEL Coco Mademoiselle I will rather name it as a Holy Grail product. I have a lot of perfumes, all of them in the higher (mot not the most expensive) segment of the field. I love the freshness off a great scent to put a mark on the day and I often associate scents with certain special occasions or childhood memories.

Coco Mademoiselle was created  back in 2011 by the nose Jaques Polge. Funny enough he is also responsible for other CHANEL fragrances as Allure, Bleu de Chanel, Chance, de Noir and the whole Les Exclusif-series holding my favourite BEIGE. Anyway, that’s rather bold as you kind of need to enjoy his work to find a perfume of your choice within the house of CHANEL.

No.5 excluded, of course!

Coco Mademoiselle is, as the name suggest a fragrance to remind us of the young and carefree Gabrielle Chanel. It is light and flirty, sexy oriental with some powdery undertones to it. The sheer, pearly pink appearance of the liquid and the bottle design breaths luxury and young femininity.

I bought my first bottle, an Eau de Toilette when it launched and this is the fragrance I wore on my wedding. I think it is the scent that my husband would most recognise as being me.

In later years, these brilliant, small Twist up and Spray-bottles have been a huge contribution to the range. While traveling, you don’t want to carry a full, fragile bottle and this refill spray makes it so easy to take it with you.

At the top notes you’ll find orange, mandarin orange, neroli and bergamot. Very fruity and quite classic. Not a bold  move! In it’s heart it carries mimosa, jasmine, turkish rose and ylang-ylang; all such feminine, fresh darling notes. As a base you’ll find tonka bean, vanilla, patchouli, vetiver and white musk. Heavier and more rich for the senses but I honestly can’t feel them all. It’s mostly patchouly and white musk to me.

Anyway, I think this is a perfume that suits almost everyone. It is pretty and safe, elegant and luxurious without being an artistic masterpiece. Sometimes elegance is enough, like on your wedding day!

I highly recommend it and have my eyes set on the Coco Mademoiselle Fresh After Bath Powder as well. This silky smooth, velvety soft powder is supposed to feel amazing on your skin after a pampering bath and add a pearl effect to your complexion. Who doesn’t want that? ♥
