Drake

Inside our wonderful beauty community, Drake is all it takes for each of us to understand what’s going on. I’m smiling when I’m typing this; it’s just so lovely to be a makeup-geek!

Anyway, I needed to look my best for the Bloomingdales’s Fashion Show and being me, I focused on the makeup. I knew I was going to wear a black pant-suit, back high heels and my hair in a sleek, hard ponytail. The rest needed some inspiration and so I had my wonderful friend Mr. Ruel Menor, Regional Makeup Artist for Tom Ford to create a look for the occasion! Yes, I know it’s a pure luxury but I enjoy the process of having a professional playing with my face.

I knew I wanted something wearable but still elegant and classy. The same day as we did the test-makeup, the new collection of Lips&Boys lipstick had just arrived to Dubai. Everyone has been raving about the shade Drake. It is pictured in the campaign photos as a super-dark, dramatic lip. Vampy and mysterious. It sold out online within minutes after the launch.

Raul decided to work with this particular shade in focus, but the funny thing is that on me, it’s not dark cherry at all! More like an intense rose-pink with a blue undertone. It makes my lips stand out, but more in a classy way than dramatic.

Paired with every skin-makeup item available in the Tom Ford range, Raul made sure I got flawless skin with a hint of warmth and sheen. Very sun-kissed and sexy. To match my lips, we went for an eye look using the oh-so-beautiful Eye color Duo in 01 Ripe Plum. This duo deserves it’s own review and I had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Matthew Tyler demonstrate it’s value. I will for sure put it up asap!

Bottom line is that with dark plummy eyes, cold pink highlights to the inner corners and loads of black eyeliner and mascara, my eyes looked so big and exotic! The look was all I could ever have dreamt of and I felt very comfortable but still glamourous.

Thank you Ruel for your amazing work and for knowing my face so well. ♥
