Friday night’s alright for vamping

I’m a little funny when it comes to makeup: I find something I like and then either of the two scenarios happens:

1. I use the new baby over and over again for a period of time, really enjoying myself, and then switch to something else. Kind of like eating the same lunch every day for a month…

2. I find the new product sooo pretty, and especially if it is a limited edition, I’m scared to hit pan and doesn’t touch it at all.

Very mature behaviour, I know.

For the last four weeks or so, I’ve found myself in phase No.1 totally wampin’ it up with YSL Autumn Pretty Metal collection. The Couture Palette Metal Clash is just…well, Everything and then some! while I’m not claiming to be a rock chic at all, I’m crazy in love with this selection of colours. Some might say that they belong in October, but I don’t care: in Dubai you can go as dark as you wish when the night falls and the party starts!

First of all: let’s take a minute to enjoy the packaging. YSL limited edition palettes are a complete weakness of mine. Getting a studded YSL logo embedded in a White gold lid is quite awesome. ♥

Secondly: I managed to control myself and take some pictures before digging in! With it’s amazing texture (no fall out, no creasing) I began to use the deep golden all over my mobile eyelid, blended in the satin plum in my socket-line and a bit of the chocolate brown (also a satin finish) in my outer V. Then spiced it up with this gorgeous plum/burgundy shade on top of the gold and finished it all of with the lilac highlighter! WOW.

Other nights I’ve used the dark brown as an eyeliner, only played with the lilac and the deep plum or gone for gold and brown. Simple!

This combination though, is my top pick: vamp it up with full, heavy makeup on the eyes, including a lot of mascara. Go very sparse and neutral on the rest of your face, like Chanel Rouge Coco Shine 52 Fetiche over your lips. Finish it up with some killer heels.

Consider yourself done!
