Happy Anniversary Grazia Middle East!

During this past week, in order to celebrate its 10-year anniversary, Grazia Middle East invited people from the business to a smashing roof top party! I just got very lucky to be able to follow one of my successful friends to the bash. Very lucky indeed as the party was so incredibly nice!

Set in the Open air restaurant Iris on the 27th floor of the Oberoi hotel, it was the perfect setting as it felt modern and chic, chill but still upscale. Fun and party with great music, trendy people-spotting and of course cupcakes.

I still, after years in Dubai, find it so exotic to be able to stand in summer hot evening breeze, watching the stars above and sip a mocktail while gazing at the amazingly dressed crowd. All the luxury brands were of course represented on both males and females, it is a very good looking industry and a girl can only be lucky if she can keep up! Knowing myself well by now, I try to do my best by focusing on makeup, bags and shoes.

I went for the safe alternative and wore all black from head to toe, my new hairdo and smokey black eyes paired with orange lips and clutch. It felt like me, comfortable but still bold.

Grazia Middle East is published in the region by ITP publishing and is the largest selling, English weekly luxury magazine in Dubai. Combining fashion, news, beauty and inside information to this highly acclaimed industry, it is a success story lead by beautiful Editor in Chief Alison Tay. The magazine is also responsible for hosting Grazia Style Awards and it’s no wonder, that the anniversary edition of the magazine features personalised greetings from some of the most recognised names in fashion!

An entire spread over pages 16 – 17 in the issue is dedicated to drawings and greeting by some of my favourites, including pieces by Sandra Choi, Creative Director of Jimmy Choo and Megan Hess, world famous illustrator.

I had an amazing evening meeting very interesting and inspiring people. It’s always a hoot when you get to party with people that are great at what they do and successful in their field. I felt a very positive spirit coming from PR professionals, designers and editors. The ambiance was joyful and playful.

As I’m writing about beauty, I of course ended up at the Shiseido makeup vanity! As a partner they were represented together with Pandora Jewellery, O.P.I. and Rimmel London (amongst additional brands) in a most luxurious goodie bag! This addition to the evening, together with the fact that the food was so great and easy (honestly, the wagyu mini-burgers were a HIT) made my night. I realised I missed out on a rather fabulous birthday cake but other than that, it was one of those perfect December nights that can only occur here in the desert. ♥
