January Delights

With about two weeks of 2016 already behind us, I’m exhausted to hear words like detox, cellulite creams and SS16. Yes, we all know that we are in over our heads looking and swatching those wonderful spring collections, but I need to say Stop! In here, it is still January, I’m still using and loving all of my xmas collections and proudly so 🙂

Yes, I’ve picked up some Valentine’s collections and of course had no character what so ever when he LA Sunrise came to town. But for now, I’m going to enjoy my “old” purchase and embrace the fact that it is January, still winter time (even in Dubai, compared to what we are facing during the summer)  so here goes!

For each collection that passes, I find myself falling more and more in love with Burberry Makeup. With some hyperpigmentation and spots, I’m not comfortable to run around town completely bare-faced. I need a bit of evening out and colour to my face. At the same time, I still like to be very simple and classic in my makeup while running errands or going to meetings. I’m still very Scandinavian that way, to me, bold colours and contouring works better for evening time.

So by that, Burberry always makes it easy to look flawlaess and gorgerus without effort. The Xmas Collection, with its golden embossed packaging is a favourite to grab. Especially so, the Eye Colour Cream in Festive Gold No. 120. Have you ever tried one of Burberry’s creamy eyeshadows? I love these, they glide on perfectly and I don’t even need to use any eyelid primer.

Yes, they are buildable, but no, if you are looking for a full on super-rich gold eyeshadow, this is not the one. This is my daytime golden star. Not to yellow and not sparkly, it just highlights those eyelids and makes my eyes look wide awake.

Usually, I tend to pair it with a matte, dark brown eyeshadow for the crease and outer V. I enjoy the texture and the fact that it’s not as bouncy as Chanel Illusion d’ombre, which to me make application fail-proof! You really need talent to go wrong with this one, lol.

As you can spot from these three pictures, the shade varies with the light in a subtle way, from cold champagne gold down to earthy with a coolness to it. Personally, I don’t own any other golden eyeshadow that resembles this one, and I tend to pick up a lot of them..

With some tight-lining and black volume mascara I’m office ready and confident my eyes looks as bright as I feel inside, never underestimate chic but downplayed makeup. It will take you through the day like nothing else. ♥
