Laura Mercier Holiday 2015

So the thing with Laura Mercier, to me, is very simple: I’ve yet to come across a product that I didn’t like. It took me a while though, to jump on board, but like Bobbi Brown or with MUFE I always tend to enjoy brands that are created by a “real” makeup artist – someone who has worked in the industry for many years, gained credibility and seen what products are missing. It deserves respect if the products delivers, and to me, Laura Mercier always do.

I’m mostly purchasing her lines for skin, i.e. base, primers and powders. I think the different lines are just fabulous in texture and coverage, a lot of the range comes in an oil-free alternative and the loose setting powder is just a classic. Other than the basics, I also tend to end up with the SPA products. They are simply divine, high quality textures and with gorgeous scents that doesn’t strike me as artificial or cheap. They breath luxury and still come in a reasonable price point!

For Christmas, in my opinion, Laura Mercier is always quite unique because she launches these great packagings of her most loved products in miniatures. She doesn’t just focus on lovely packaging (which, to be honest, some brands do) but to make sure the products inside the gift is a pathway into her brand, a chance to test it out and fall in love! Not to fall for a limited edition product that you will never be able to get again. It’s elegant and clever.

For Xmas 2015 there are a number of gift sets, but these two are my top ones, the ones I will by for myself and enjoy.

First out is Le Petite Soufflés Body Crème Collection – a smaller group of the whipped ultra-rich body creams that represents all of the 6 flavours that Laura Mercier is so famous for: Ambre, Vanillé, Fresh Fig, Crème de Pistache, Almond Coconut Milk, Crème Brûlée and finally Tart au Citron. MY OH MY! If these doesn’t give you a luxurious feeling then I’m not sure what you are doing wrong…

Obviously, you can buy all these and their series in full size jars as well, and my favourites for that is Pistachio, Tart au Citron and Vanilla. I can see a pattern here: it’s the same flavour I choose for gelato!

Next up, and this is important, is the set of miniature Caviar sticks! Now, for those of you who doesn’t know what this is, I’ll tell you it must be God’s gift to the one who can’t apply makeup or doesn’t have the time to apply makeup 🙂

The original sticks (yes these are creamy eyeshadows in a stick) goes on beautifully on the lid, blends with your fingers and stays there all day with a bit of primer underneath. As with the By Terry ones, they are a bit satin to sparkle, festive but still very modest. Now, the Holiday collection from Laura finally, and I truly mean finally comes with matte sticks in other colours than black!!! Look at this, a number of earthy shades, some matte and some satin that saves your morning-office-makeup-routine with at least 20 minutes. It’s brilliant!

There are a number of versions for eyeshadow sticks on the market. I would only recommend LM or By Terry for their longevity and tendencies to blend well and seamlessly without creasing on your lids. Each to their own, but that’s what I think.

Mom, you seriously need these too ♥
