For the last year or so, there’s been a trend with limited edition beauty products to showcase stunning embossed prints and patterns. Yes they are beyond beautiful: Burberry, Sisley, Dior, they have all made them!
The issue I have with them all is, that they are collectors items, where if you use the product, the wonderful pattern embossed to the makeup will wear off and the product will soon become quite regular. For this reason only, I’ve been a “good girl” and not purchased them even though it hurts!
I want to be able to USE my makeup. That’s what it’s all about.
This summer I think Givenchy just heard my prayers. Their limited edition Magnolia Collection 2016 comes let the house dress up two of their most famous products in their iconic Magnolia print, seen from the runway!
Finally, I say. First up is the Prisme Libre Loose Powder – 1 Mousseline Pastel, a non detectable setting powder with colour correcting properties which goes on matte, enhances the skin radiance and blur out minor imperfections. A best seller for Givenchy and now dressed with a leather imprinted packaging covered in gorgeous magnolias! The lid obviously fits additional re-purchases of the original product, so it will never go out of style and even if you use the powder it will still be in your collection!
Then, as if this is not good enough, they will also release the iconic red Le Rouge Lipstick – 306 Carmen Escarpin. And what do we get? Yes, a leather imprinted case that fits all of the original Le Rouge lipsticks!!
I mean. I think this is the most clever, most beautiful limited edition released in a long time. I’m trying my best to get my hands on the collection, right now it’s available at Barneys.com.
