For that Burberry Glow

As I know that so many of you readers are experiencing hot and humid weather at the moment; here in GCC or in Asia or back in Florida for that matter, I do understand that we might be more interested in powdering up all that “glow”!

Anyway, I’m thinking it’s often easier to work together with nature instead of against it. For this week, it will be all about that glow, ’bout that glow.

Just one thing though: the Burberry packaging. I mean, it’s just so classy and clean, so understated but still luxurious. All the boxes with their shade and texture reminding us of their signature Burberry coat. Right now, there is a huge sale going on online at Burberry.com (sadly not on beauty or I would have bought the whole site) but for shoes, accessories and coats, there are some amazing deals!

Returning ti that Burberry glow now. Last fall, when I had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend an exclusive VIP masterclass with Wendy Rowe for Burberry Middle East, I asked her what product she would never release for the Burberry range.

She didn’t hesitate one second in her answer: any product too harsh that would kill the natural glow and beauty of the skin! Her way of applying makeup really enhances your own skin, it doesn’t cover it all up under a blanket of products. It’s very sheer but still buildable and corrective.

I love the Burberry glow. For daytime is a no-brainer: so easy to apply and so effortless to maintain. As we are talking about skin-base makeup now, paired with highlighter, I must stress that this is not something only for women. A lot of men uses these products as well, as they are jam packed with skin beneficial ingredients and photographs really well, despite being “glowy”.

First, as a base I love the Nude Radiance which comes in two shades. It can be used all by itself and adds radiance to dull and tired skin. It would be described as a primer, but not filled with a lot of silicone. I can’t say that it evens out the look of pores but it sure evens out the skin tone and gives it a pit of clarity and health. It holds glycerin and caprylic/capric triglyceride at the top of the ingredient list. The latter is derived from coconut oil and glycerin and a star for moisturising the skin. It contains a good mix of fatty acids in a medium level chain with, some research claim, can reduce inflammation in the skin and assist with spot treatment. this is an excellent skin repairing ingredients so to add this tho the makeup range and products closest to your skin is a nice touch by Burberry!

On Top of it: the Fresh Glow Foundation. Really, no presentation needed. It delivers what it promises and works in synergy with the skin. It sinks in beautifully and for me, with pigmentation spots on my chin, I can build it up to the point where I don’t need concealer on top.

Then a best friend of my collection: the Nude Powder – Sheer luminous pressed powder. I have it in two different shades so that I can mix and match for different parts of the face. It’s not necessary, just me being extra picky. A setting powder with a bit of colour, not completely matte to cancel out all the great, glowing work we’ve done so far, but it’s not packed with glitter either. I love this powder. It sets light as a loose powder despite its pressed version and it stays on for a good amount of the day (more so if I add some setting spray before going outside).

Then, for that extra mile: the Fresh Glow Highlighting luminous pen. Used as a partner to the contouring pens, or by its own, it adds such calm and smooth highlight under the eyebrows, down the nose and at the cupid bow. I love that it’s everything that BECCA and ABH are not. We are talking different kinds of highlight’s here and all these brands complement each other so perfect! I prefer BECCA and ABH on top of my cheek bones.

This, with some mascara and lip balm is all I’ll be wearing today. It’s the perfect fresh start of a new working week here in Dubai. For you guys who are still enjoying a proper quiet Sunday: enjoy!! ♥
